In the spring of 2015, members of a young but exciting Los Angeles neighborhood group reached out to us about revamping their logo + brand. The group—The Westwood Neighborhood Greenway—in its nearest term is working to complete the Westwood Neighborhood Greenway + Outdoor Learning Center in coordination with the city as it completes the Westwood/Rancho Park Metro station along the newly extended Expo Line.
The members of the Greenway steering committee with whom we worked had a strong desire to reflect both the railway itself in the iconography of the final mark—”showing accessibility and environmentally responsible transportation” as they told us in response to our branding worksheet—as well as the imagery of the native Sycamore tree, which plays into the architectural design of the Greenway and Learning Center.
